The number of temperature cables needed depends on the diameter of your bin. The thermocouple spacings in the cable vary from 5 to 7 feet depending on the height of your bin. Each thermocouple covers a 20 foot diameter sphere. The cable simply attaches to the bin roof. The attaching cable is routed out of the way of the grain stream, and out the eave. To check the temperature, simply plug in the Farm-Temp portable instrument, which will read any number of bins and cables.
